One first lieutenant has been killed in the attack launched by Civil Protection Units (YPS) members against military units during the military operations carried out in Turkey’s southeastern Şırnak province.
The attack took place in Gazipaşa neighborhood of Şırnak Central.
The soldier wounded heavily by fire opened from a house was taken to Şırnak Military Hospital by armored ambulance, yet couldn’t be saved despite all the medical efforts.
The written statement issued by the General Staff expressed that the attack took place at around in the afternoon, but no information has been delivered as to ID of the soldier killed.
Curfew and military operations in Şırnak have been going on as of March 14. (EKN/TK)
