MoI Press Centre has issued a statement noting that legal proceedings were launched against 3,710 persons in the last 6 months due to their comments shared in the social media.
MoI has announced the grounds for launching legal proceedings as part of the deliberations of the DG Security, as follows; " Inciting people to breed enmity and animosity, praising the terror organisation, conducting propaganda of the terror organisation, publicly announcing his/her association to terror organisation, insulting the state dignitaries, aiming at the indivisible integrity of the state and security of life of the people."
1,656 arrested, 84 detained
MoI announced that among 3,710 people detained, 1,656 were arrested, 1,203 were released on probation, 84 were detained, 767 were realised from detention.
MoI also announced that investigation and legal processes were ongoing against 10,000 people whose open IDs were revealed and referred to Prosecution Offices.
The MoI statement included; "In addition to reinforcement of technical capabilities of our fight against crime units, cooperation with many national and international service providers, institutions and organisations, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube has been brought to a highest possible level."
