The İstanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education has opened an investigation into a "Nazi salute" incident during a Jewish high school's football game.
During the game on March 15, a player for the Üsküdar American High School football team reportedly gave a Nazi salute after scoring a goal against the Ulus Jewish High School.
The American high school was separately investigating the incident, it said in a statement after the game, expressing regrets over their student's behavior.
The Turkish Jewish Community said it was following the issue "sensitively," and "taking necessary initiatives." (RT/VK)
