The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has released a new decision on university students studying in Ukraine who were studying in universities in the country before the war.
Accordingly, undergraduate transfer of the students to universities in Turkey will be facilitated and those who do not meet the requirements for a transfer will be granted "special status."
The special status will allow the students to continue their studies and the details regarding the system will be announced to the public in the coming days, the YÖK stated.
Before the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, there were about 5,000 students from Turkey in the country. The total number of citizens of Turkey living in the Ukraine was over 20,000. (RT/VK)
