Competing in the 75th Cannes Film Festival, the crew of Emin Alper's movie "Burning Days" appeared before the press with placards written "Free Çiğdem Mater" today (May 24).

Photos of the protest have been shared on the official social media accounts of the festival as well.
During the premiere of the film Burning Days yesterday, director Emin Alper shared a message, thanking all of the producers of the film, adding Çiğdem Mater, one of the producers of the film who could not participate in the event because she was sent to prison after receiving an 18-year prison sentence in the Gezi Park case.

"I want to thank our associate producer Çiğdem Mater. She is not with us today because she was put into jail after a ridiculous show trial. She is not with us but our minds and hearts are with her." said director Emin Alper before the premiere of his latest film "Burning Days" at Cannes.
Directed by Emin Alper, the feature film ''Burning Days'' made its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, "a certain glance" (Un Certain Regard) section yesterday .
