Directed by Emin Alper, the feature film ''Burning Days'' is making its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, "a certain glance" (Un Certain Regard) section today (May 23).
The film which is co-produced by Turkey-France-Germany-Holland-Greek-Croatia will be screened at Salle Debussy.
Director Emin Alper speaking before the screening said that they are very pleased to be part of the festival and thanked all of the producers.
Alper later sent his greetings to Çiğdem Mater, one of the co-producers of the film.
"I want to thank our associate producer Çiğdem Mater. She is not with us today because she was put into jail after a ridiculous show trial. She is not with us but our minds and hearts are with her." Said, Director Emin Alper.

While the cast of the film includes Selahattin Paşalı, Ekin Koç, Erol Babaoğlu, Erdem Şenocak, Selin Yeninci, Sinan Demirer, Nizam Namidar, Ali Seçkiner Alıcı ve Eylül Ersöz, the film is about a young prosecutor named Emre who was appointed to Yanıklar town which suffers from drought.
The mayor Selim, the local journalist Murat and the ongoing debates between residents of the town are portrayed in the film Burning days which is Alper's fourth full-length feature film.
The director is also famous for his movies Beyond the Hill, Frenzy, and A Tale of Three Sisters.
The film will meet with the audience in Turkey in the autumn of 2022.
