Scores of people reportedly crossed the border for solidarity as ISIS attacks intensified in Kobane. Another delegation including deputies are awaiting in Mürşitpınar to cross the border.
“I have visited Kobane yesterday with a delegation. ISIS attacks intensified in Kobane. Tension arose here. We hear mortar shots.
“Therefore, people on the Turkish side cross the border to have solidarity with them. They want to go there and show their presence. Many of them already have family ties there.
“The pressures of Turkish law enforcement have lightened right now. There are no attacks for the past two days. At the moment, crossing to the other side is almost free. Syrian Kurds in Kobane are also allowed here. Some go through the barbed wires to cross the border. We are also waiting at the border. We would like to go there as a delegation and know what is going in Kobane.
Along with Kürkçü, the delegation included HDP deputies İbrahim Ayhan, İbrahim Binici as well as Meral Danış Beştaş from Diyarbakır Bar Association and Diyarbakır Co-Mayor Fırat Anlı.
