İ.E. (18), who committed suicide on July 16 in Beşiri, Batman, and said in a letter that specialist sergeant Musa O. raped her, has lost her life at the hospital where she was treated.
While she was at the hospital, her family found a letter in which she said she was raped by the officer, who was detained on the same day that the family filed a complaint.

During his interrogation, he denied any sexual intercourse with İ.E. and said that he was "drunk."
However, the Forensic Medicine Institution's report, which was revealed by the Mesopotamia Agency, clearly states that she was raped.
A confidentiality order was imposed on the case and the Siirt Penal Judgeship of Peace released Musa O. upon judicial control measures. The officer is charged with "qualified sexual abuse."
İ.E.'s family subsequently applied to the Human Rights Association (İHD) for help. The İHD made applications for information to the Siirt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of National Defense and the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights.
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Feleknas Uca submitted a parliamentary question about the incident to Minister of Justice Abdulhamid Gül.
Batman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against Jiyan Haber newspaper's publisher İdris Yayla over reports on the incident. (EMK/VK)
