'Query not me, but the criminal!"
Friends of Şule Çet has made a video to draw attention to the hearing on May 15. Women have made a call for solidarity in the video:
In the video, women say the following:
"Şule Çet was murdered on 29 May 2018 after being raped. All evidence was destroyed; rape and murder were covered up.
"The accused lawyers laughed that Şule had old tears in her hymen and that she was not a virgin and had a drink.
"The suspect said that you will ask his father why his daughter was there at that time. Eight months later, evidence was erased at the trial stage and only event night images were served to the press to clear the perpetrators.
"The rape was legitimized by emphasizing Şule's drinking on social media and news channels.
"When I was harassed, when I was raped, when I was killed, not hours, not my virginity, not why I am there, not what I drink, not whom I brought to my house, not me... Query the criminal!
"We want justice for Şule so that no other Şule will be killed. We want justice for Şule Çet!" (EMK/SD)
