A man named M.S. shot her girlfriend Simge Sezer to death at her house in Turkey's Black Sea province of Samsun on July 13.
M.S., who escaped after committing the murder, was captured by the police. It was reported that M.S. confessed that he had murdered Sezer. The man claimed that he committed the murder "because his manhood was ridiculed."
The body of the 24-year-old transgender woman Simge Sezer was laid to rest in the district of Çarşamba in Samsun on July 14.
M.S has been arrested.
According to the male violence monitoring report of bianet, two transgender women were killed in 2017. One transgender woman was found dead at her house. Two other transgender women were alleged to have committed suicide. 11 transgender women were subjected to attacks and/or violence. (ÇT/SD)
