The families are trying to cut down the expenses, espe on other items in order to meet school costs and other expenses. Especially expense items related to social life are the ones where the families cut down on expenses.
The Ipsos research company carried out a research on families who have children at school age on their school expenses.
The survey was carried out between September 15 and October 15 with 568 parents who have children at school age.
The findings of the research show that:
- 81 percent of the families are trying to cut down the expenses on other items in order to meet school costs and other expenses.
- Especially expense items related to social life are the ones where the families cut down on expenses.
- Having a meal outside, ordering a meal from outside or outside activities such as going to the cinema or a theater are now less frequent. Additionally families are trying to practice economy on clothing expenses.
- 70 percent of the families with children at school age say that the school expenses rose in such a way to put great pressure on their budget, while 24 percent say that these expenses rose in a way to put some pressure on their budget.
- Almost all parents have had pretty much difficulty in the face of the school expenses this year. The percentage of parents who did not have any difficulty about school expenses is only 6 percent.
- 67 percent of the parents having difficulty about school expenses have also cut down on school expenses.
- 37 percent of the families tried to cut down on stationery expenses or used the stationery equipment from last year. 36 percent used the school clothes from last year.
- One out of every four parents is saying that they are preparing a sandwich or some other food at home and sending it with their children to school in order to cut down on school expenses. (RT/PE/VK)
