A person shot by police in the entrance to the area where the Newroz celebrations are being held in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakır province, has lost his life in the hospital.
According to a report by the Doğan News Agency (DHA), the person wanted to enter the celebrations area with a knife in his hand, refused to get his backpack be searched by security units and tried to run away.
Police opened fire on the person disobeying the stop warning by the police. Taken to hospital with severe injuries, he lost his life in the hospital. His identity has yet to be announced. (ÇT/DG)
