He said that "The statement of the MIT Undersecretary that "MIT cut all relations with Alaattin Cakici", is pleasing. But it seems that Cakici is still in a relationship with MIT. This issue is as important as not to be left to the choices and judgement of Cakici."
Baykal added that "Cakici was able to flee Turkey with the assistance of some people, in spite of the fact that he was under police surveillance. The reason of this, appears to be the Appeals Court-MIT conflict. The strange thing here is that, everyone found his escape, normal. No one investigates into how he managed to flee Turkey.
"The Prime Minister said that "This issue do not concern us." Are you not interested in the escape of Cakici from Turkey and the escape of Mustafa Bayram and his (drug smuggler) son Hamit Bayram from the security premises (in Van) ? Are you not concerned about the Cakici-MIT connection? The Prime Minister is watching the developments, from the tribunes." (YE)
