As Turkey's presidential and parliamentary elections commenced at 8:00 am today across the country, reports of irregularities are coming in.
The Chairperson of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) in Istanbul, Kaftancıoğlu, reported that a person was caught attempting to vote twice and a balloting committee chair was caught trying to stamp the ballot while handing it to a voter.
"Only one person tried to cast multiple votes in İstanbul. And that one has been caught. :),'' Kaftancıoğlu writes on her social media account.
''It would be better if the person had not threatened our ballot committee member saying 'I took note of you,'" she adds.
