An unidentified person or persons vandalized an election campaign office of the Green Left (Yeşil Sol) Party early today (April 6) in Bahçelievler, İstanbul.
The perpetrators removed party flags and stickers and draw three crescents, a Turkish nationalist symbol, and wrote insults on the walls of the office.
The party will file a criminal complaint about the incident, the Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reported.
Facing a closure case, the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the third-largest party in the parliament and the most popular party among the country's Kurdish electorate will run in the May 14 election under the Green Left Party.
Today, shots were fired near the main opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) İstanbul office. In a similar incident last week, bullets hit the Good (İYİ) Party's İstanbul office. The police denied that the incident was an attack on the party, saying that stray bullets had hit the building. (TY/VK)
