The six opposition parties working on a roadmap for the return to a parliamentary system do not ignore other parties, Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has said.
Leaders of the six parties held a round table meeting on Saturday (February 12), which drew criticism from both the ruling alliance and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).
While the HDP previously stated that it had no intentions to join the alliance of the CHP and the İYİ (Good) Party, it said it shouldn't be ignored in the negotiations to determine a joint presidential candidate and for the transition to a parliamentary system.
HDP Co-Chairs Mithat Sancar and Pervin Buldan said the party might put forward its own candidate rather than supporting a joint opposition candidate.
"We can't ignore the HDP and other parties who were not on the table. We respect every political party," Kılıçdaroğlu told KRT TV in a live interview last night (February 17).
