Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Parliamentary Group Deputy Chair Saruhan Oluç made a speech at the 4th Ordinary Congress of the HDP Adana Provincial Organization yesterday (January 23).
While the congress was also attended by HDP's Fatma Kurtulan and Kemal Peköz, HDP's Saruhan Oluç addressed the crowd about the attacks, targeting remarks and court cases targeting the party.
"While your politics is collapsing, the HDP is still a rising power," said Oluç, adding, "The HDP is this. What happened because you filed a closure case? There is nothing in the case. But, on the contrary, there is an honorable resistance. There is an honorable resistance against ISIS barbarians in Kobanî. You put our friends on trial because they did not surrender to the ISIS barbarians. That is why they want to purge our party from politics."
'You cannot bring the HDP to its knees'
Further in his speech, HDP's Oluç referred to the crowd in the congress hall and said, "You will see that you will be unable to bring the HDP to its knees. Kurdish people have never bowed down, they have never knelt down in the face of atrocity and injustice. And they will not kneel down from now on, either. In Turkey, no equation can be the case without the HDP anymore. The HDP has the key; you have the key now. That is why the ruling party cannot stand it. We say it one more time: The HDP is not only a party, it is a major force in shaping the country's future."
After the Activity and Financial reports were read out, Helin Kaya and Mehmet Karakış were elected the HDP Adana Provincial Co-Chairs. (RT/SD)
