Keeping watch in front of the İzmir office of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), alleging that his daughter had been taken to the mountains to join the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Mehmet Laçin attempted to make a statement for the press and put up a tent in front of the HDP Central Office in the capital city of Ankara today (September 16).
Coming to the Central Office to attend the meeting held ahead of the declaration to be issued by the HDP on September 27, the HDP politicians protested the incident, saying that Mehmet Laçin was "the lookout during Deniz Poyraz's murder" inside the HDP İzmir office on June 17.
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency (MA), the police demanded that the vehicles on the street be removed for Laçin and that the MPs enter the building. The MPs protested the police, saying, "You cannot bring here the murderers of Deniz Poyraz. This man was on the watch while Deniz Poyraz was being massacred. The police are protecting him."
In a statement on its Twitter account, the HDP said:
The government of Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have mobilized to defend the ones who acted as lookouts for Deniz Poyraz's murderer. We will stand fast in the face of murderers and instigators.
In the meanwhile, Mehmet Laçin made a statement under police surveillance. HDP Spokesperson and Mardin MP Ebru Günay addressed the police and said, "The police of the state are protecting the murderer. You are protecting the instigator of Deniz Poyraz. He says it himself, he is making a statement to the public. He is the murderer of Deniz Poyraz."
Following the protests of the HDP politicians, Laçin was taken to a taxi by the police and taken away from the scene.

What happened?
Protesting for three years, alleging that his daughter had been taken to the mountains, Mehmet Laçin started a march from İzmir to Ankara on September 13. He made a statement in front of the Parliament and Constitutional Court yesterday (September 15).
The HDP Central Executive Board made a statement yesterday and said: "Those who have directed a person kept as a provocateur in front of our İzmir Provincial Building and the alleged lookout during the massacre of our friend Deniz Poyraz to our Central Office are after a big plot.
"The ruling AKP-MHP alliance, which has been developing the attacks on our party, should know that we will absolutely not let the tent of plot which is organized with the support of the security and planned to be put up in front of our Central Office." (DŞ/SD)
