Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan attended the rally of "Peace Saves Lives" held in the Van Musa Anter Park on the occasion of September 1 World Peace Day yesterday.
Making a speech there, Buldan said:
On the occasion of September 1, I would like to repeat my call to the political and social opposition and all democratic forces, to the Parliament, to NGOs, intellectuals, writers and academics, to all conscientious people: If there is an alliance to form at this point, it must be the alliance of peace. Everyone must concentrate one the alliance of peace and bring this alliance into life. The most urgent need of Turkey is peace. It is important to form an alliance of peace by Turkey's peoples from the east to the west, from the south to the north.
HDP to issue a declaration on September 27
HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan also announced that they, as the HDP, would issue a declaration regarding the resolution of Kurdish question and several problems facing Turkey on September 27:
"In Ankara on September 27, we, as the HDP, are preparing to issue a declaration that we call the HDP's principles regarding the resolution of both the Kurdish question and several problems faced in Turkey.
"We believe that after we unveil these principles, the peoples of Turkey will clamp around the HDP. The HDP will grow further, It will expand further. Those who say no to the politics of annihilation and denial and say yes to resolution will now reveal where they stand.
"We will show it to the peoples of Turkey one more time that the HDP is a power of hope, courage and solution in Turkey's politics."
'Kurdish question, peace not only HDP's problem'
Noting that "Turkey is scattering to somewhere else everyday" because there is no resolution and peace, Buldan said:
"Neither the Kurdish question nor the question of peace is solely the problem of the HDP. It needs to be the problem of every conscientious person. The failure to resolve the Kurdish question leads to the aggrievement of not only Kurds but of 83 million people as well.
"For this reason, it is now time to cry out peace and resolution and want a peaceful resolution of the Kurdish question."
Following the speeches and music performances, HDP Co-Chair Buldan, HDP MPs and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır let doves fly in a gesture symbolizing peace. (KÖ/SD)
