Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Ağrı MP Dirayet Dilan Taşdemir has submitted a Parliamentary question about 10-year-old Eyüp Kırtay, who has lost his life after being run over by an armored vehicle.
On its way back from the "Victory Celebrations" held in Muş's Malazgirt district on August 25, the armed vehicle with the license plate 25 SH 249 and with allegedly the Erzurum 3rd Army Commander on board hit Eyüp Kırtay (10) in Bitlis' Ahlat district while it was underway at speed.
In her Parliamentary question, HDP's Taşdemir has written that the vehicle fled the scene of the incident: "His paternal uncle saw that Eyüp Kırtay was hit by the vehicle and tried to stop it by holding on to the vehicle's hood; however, the driver of the vehicle did not pull over and dragged the paternal uncle for kilometers. As for Eyüp Kırtay, he lost his life at the hospital."
'Is there an investigation?'
Addressing her Parliamentary question to Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül, HDP Ağrı MP Taşdemir has asked:
- Is there an investigation launched into the accident where Eyüp Kırtay lost his life?
- To whom belongs the vehicle that hit Eyüp Kırtay? Is it true that the Erzurum 3rd Army Commander was on board?
- Is there an investigation launched against the driver of the vehicle with the license plate 25 SH 249? What proceedings have been taken regarding the deadly accident?
- In measuring the negligence of the driver, did he undergo an alcotest or any other test?
- On what legal grounds has the driver who caused the death of Eyüp Kırtay still not been arrested?
- Were the witness statements taken about the accident that caused the death of Eyüp Kırtay?
