In a statement on social media, Pamukkale University has announced that "the necessary examination and inquiry" has been launched into the incident where two questions were asked about the closure case filed against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in a final exam.
In the related exam held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Pamukkale University, the first-year students were asked the name of "the pro-Kurdish opposition party that the Turkish prosecutor's office wanted to be banned by the top court of the country."
While the question apparently referred to the closure case filed against the HDP, the options were İYİ Party, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), HDP, Felicity Party (SP) and Justice and Development Party (AKP).
In another question, the students were also asked, "Which institution might ban the pro-Kurdish opposition party?" The options were the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes, the Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation and Council of State.
After the incident were reported in the press and shared on social media, it sparked reactions and criticisms. Making a statement on its social media account in this context, Pamukkale University has said:
"The two questions circulated on social media and addressed to the students of Economics Department of Pamukkale University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in the finals of the spring term have been cancelled; the necessary inquiry and examinations have been launched."
