Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Vice Chair and Chair of Local Administrations Mehmet Özhaseki has sent a "Circular on Coronavirus Measures in Ramadan Month" to 798 municipalities across Turkey.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the circular has said, "In this period when we are experiencing all hardships of the pandemic, the municipal services are almost taking on a new dimension."
Özhaseki's circular has noted, "We need to pay our visits, especially to the outskirts, by abiding by the pandemic rules. We need to step up our aid activities in a low-key manner and without turning them into a media-show." The circular of the ruling party has also said:
"The shopkeepers where our citizens in need do shopping must be visited quietly and their debts must be paid off if there are families who cannot pay their debts. A pioneering and guiding role must also be adopted for the aids to be offered by philanthropic citizens." (EKN/SD)
