Three people have been detained on the grounds that they allegedly threatened Denizli MP Teoman Sancar with the images that they took.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the teams of Provincial Security Directorate have started probing the incident after MP Teoman Sancar filed a criminal complaint and said that some people were blackmailing him with the images that they had captured.
A detention warrant was issued for three suspects. They have been taken into custody shortly afterwards.
He resigned on February 28
Posting a message on his Twitter account on February 28, Teoman Sancar announced that he resigned from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). The MP said, "I bring it to the public attention that I have resigned from the membership of Republican People's Party."
Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi üyeliğinden istifa ettiğimi kamuoyunun bilgisine saygılarımla sunarım.

In a press statement on March 1, CHP Spokesperson Faik Öztrak said, "The MP announced his resignation. A resignation is a one-sided initiative. As for its reasons, what we know is limited to what he wrote in his letter." (EKN/SD)
