The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) will meet four opposition parties in Turkey. The first meeting will be held with the Felicity Party (SP).
As reported by BBC Türkçe, the party has decided to share its views and recommendations about the pressing problems of Turkey, especially democratization and justice, with the opposition parties.
The move of the HDP has come amid the incessant calls of Devlet Bahçeli, the Chair of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), which is in the People's Alliance with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for the closure of the party.
On the other side, the other opposition parties have also been paying visits to one another for some time now, testing the water for a possible alliance or an extension of the already existing alliances as well as exchanging their views and recommendations about the country's problems.
Accordingly, Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, the Co-Chairs of the HDP, got in touch with the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), DEVA Party of Ali Babacan, Future Party of Ahmet Davutoğlu and the Felicity Party (SP), asking them for an appointment to meet within this context.
As the SP has accepted the request, SP Chair Temel Karamollaoğlu will meet the HDP Co-Chairs on Monday (February 1). (AÖ/SD)
