Two people who were detained after the assault on Future Party Vice-Chair Selçuk Özdağ were remanded in custody, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
The suspects, A.G. and G.T, are charged with willful injury as three others are being sought by police.
Özdağ was assaulted by five people with sticks and weapons in front of his home in the capital city of Ankara on January 15. Two journalists in Ankara were also assaulted in front of their homes within the same 24 hours.
The Future Party is founded and chaired by former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who left the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in 2019.
After the assaults, Davutoğlu said the perpetrators should be charged with organized crime.
