Sadi Güven, the Chair of Supreme Election Council (YSK), has made a statement regarding the local elections.
Referring to the news that the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) has stopped data flow regarding the results of local elections as of 11.21 p.m. last night (March 31), Güven has stated, "I am not providing any information service to the Anadolu Agency, the AA is not receiving data from me. When the AA reached 90 percents, I had just begun to enter data."
Stating that the process of objection to the results has started, Güven has said that the process in question will continue till tomorrow. He has added that an objection has been raised against 84 ballot boxes in İstanbul so far.
Sadi Güven has stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu, the candidate of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and İYİ Party, has been leading in İstanbul: "As of now, the figure that has reached me about Ekrem İmamoğlu is 4 million 159 thousand 650 while 4 million 131 thousand 761 votes have been entered into the system for Binali Yıldırım."
With this statement, Güven has announced that there is a margin of 27 thousand 889 votes between İmamoğlu and Yıldırım.
Making a statement earlier today, Ekrem İmamoğlu has stated that he is leading in İstanbul with a margin of 27 thousand votes.
The Demirören News Agency (DHA) has also confirmed it in a news report, which it has removed from its website afterwards. (AS/SD)
