Lawyers of Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) imprisoned presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş have taken Demirtaş’s file to the Constitutional Court.
The request for Demirtaş’s release was rejected by Ankara 19th Heavy Penal Court on May 21.

Demirtaş’s lawyers took the case to the upper court, Ankara 20th Heavy Penal Court but the request was rejected again.
Speaking to bianet following the decision of rejection of the upper court, lawyer Mahsuni Karaman had expressed that they will demand that the Constitutional Court see the case with priority and render its verdict, and the Constitutional Court has authority for it. (EKN/TK)
