Political parties, which have qualified to enter the Parliamentary election on June 24, 2018, submitted their complete lists of MP candidates to the Supreme Election Council yesterday (May 21).
Seven political parties have nominated 31 journalists as MP candidates.
The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has nominated 4 journalists and the Republican People's Party (CHP) has nominated 5 journalists as MP candidates while 6 journalists have been nominated by the İYİ Party, 4 journalists by the Justice and Development Party (AKP), 7 journalists by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), 2 journalists by the Felicity Party (SP) and 3 journalists by the Patriotic Party.
The list of journalists nominated as MP candidates is as follows:
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP)
Ahmet Şık (former reporter of Cumhuriyet newspaper): İstanbul, 2nd region, 1st place
Rumet Serhat (journalist): Bolu, 3rd place
Tayip Temel (Editor-in-Chief of Azadiya Welat newspaper): Van, 5th place
Tuma Çelik (Editor-in-Chief of Sabro newspaper): Mardin, 3rd place
Republican People's Party (CHP)
Enis Berberoğlu (arrested journalist, MP): İstanbul, 2nd region, 1st place
Utku Çakırözer (journalist, MP): Eskişehir, 1st place
Yüksel Mansur Kılınç (Board Chairperson of Yön Radio): İstanbul, 2nd region, 5th place
Atilla Sertel (MP): İzmir, 2nd region, 4th place
Tuncay Özkan (MP): İzmir, 1st region, 1st place
