Summoning Faruk Kaymakçı, the Permanent Delegate of Turkey to the EU, the European Commission has demanded an explanation about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement "Tomorrow, no European, no Westerner can set a foot on the street peacefully and safely".
Erdoğan in his speech on March 22 regarding as to the referendum rallies being banned in Germany and the Netherlands, Erdoğan had said, "if you continue acting like this, tomorrow, in no place of the world, no European, no Westerner can set a foot on the street peacefully and safely".
Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs&Security Policy Maja Kocijanjic has made a statement regarding Erdoğan's words and said:
"We summoned the permanent delegate of Turkey. We demand an explanation for Erdoğan's words threatening the security of the Europeans". (HK/DG)
