İbrahim Burak Oğuz, the District Mayor of Urla in İzmir from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), has been arrested.
Accused of "telephoning with the senior executives of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)", which is held responsible for the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, Oğuz was summoned to courthouse to depose yesterday (December 16). After deposing to the prosecutor's office, Oğuz was referred to the judgeship on duty to be arrested.
İbrahim Burak Oğuz has been arrested on charge of "being a member of the FETÖ armed terrorist organization".
About Burak Oğuz
District Mayor of Urla in İzmir, financier. Independent auditor at the Public Oversight Authority. He worked in the departments of tax, bookkeeping and finance at international companies. He assumed the title of Independent Accountant and Financial Advisor in 2003.
He studied Finance at Dokuz Eylül University, he did his Master's degree in the Department of Finance with his thesis on "Financial Structure of Free Zones". He is still studying for doctorate. He was born in Urla in 1972. (EKN/SD)
