Curfew declared on November 2 in Turkey’s southeastern Cevatpaşa, Fatihpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Hasırlı, Cemal Yılmaz and Savaş neighborhoods in addition to Gazi Street of Sur district in Diyarbakır province continues.
Police and gendarmerie units have launched an operation to remove barricades, fill ditches and dispose of explosives planted in the garden of Kurşunlu Mosque. A police officer killed by a long-barreled weapon fire, reported state-run Anadolu Agency.
Hürriyet daily reported that the deceased was a police officer with bomb squad to dispose of the explosives planted. The explosive in question was detonated remotely and a police officer injured during the detonation, added Hürriyet.
Kurşunlu Mosque was set on fire on November 7.
