Security forces prevented 191 irregular migrants from heading to Greece on a fishing boat.
After the police received a tip-off, the Coast Guards intercepted the boat named "Kibar Kaptan" off the coast of Şarköy, Tekirdağ in northwestern Turkey.
Most of the migrants were said to be from Afghanistan. Authorities seized their passports to determine their identities.
Şarköy public prosecutors also visited the scene of the incident.
The migrants were taken to the Şarköy District Gendarmerie Command to be transferred to the Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
The fishing boat, which was registered in Balıkesir's Bandırma port, was confiscated. (YÖ/NÖ/VK)
