Melike Ceyhan, a former reporter for the Mezopotamya Agency, was detained last night (February 12) in a home where she was visiting in Sancaktepe district of İstanbul.
Ceyhan was taken to the İstanbul Provincial Directorate of Security.
Attorneys from the Media and Legal Studies Association (MLSA) went to the Directorate of Security but were not able to see Ceyhan because of the confidentiality order on the investigation.
Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) Ümraniye District Organization Co-Chair Damla Savcı and Cemal Kümicem have also been detained in the same investigation.
According to the BİA Media Monitoring Reports, at least 123 journalists are behind bars in Turkey.
