Nevşin Mengü, an anchorwoman who was taken off from prime time newscast bulletin due to her comment on Trump-Erdoğan meeting and returned later to the newscast, has declared that she has left CNNTürk.
Mengü has announced on her Twitter account that she has left CNNTÜrk with no hard feelings.
The administration of CNNTürk had decided to pull Mengü off from the newscast due to her comments while reporting a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump on CNN Türk live broadcast.
Mengü had said regarding the duration of the meeting "The whole meeting lasted 23 minutes, Erdoğan invited Trump to Turkey, Trump turned his back and left".
Following the news channel's decision, Mengü was expected to continue working at CNNTürk but would not anchor the prime time newscast anymore.
On June 6, 2017, she announced that she returned to prime time newscast. Recently, she had not been on the screen after she began to anchor the prime time newscast again.(EA/DG)
