The Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) and the Children and Women First Association have signed a solidarity protocol.
As part of the protocol, a new scholarship project has been launched with the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) in order to grant scholarship support to the children of the women who lost their lives as a result of male violence and to the children who were subjected to abuse in the cases followed by the Children and Women First Association.
With the protocol signed by the associations, the children who were subjected to abuse and who lost their mothers to male violence will be provided with scholarships throughout their secondary and higher education.
In addition to scholarships, the protocol also foresees efforts to help children and families get over the crisis that they find themselves in, reduce the effects of the trauma and reestablish their social life order.
The solidarity protocol was signed at a meeting attended by ÇYDD Chair Dr. Ayşe Yüksel, Vice Chair and lawyer Sedat Durna, General Accountant Nilgün Polat Gevrek and Secretary General Orhan Argon as well as Children and Women First Association Chair and lawyer Müjde Tozbey Erdem and Executive Board Chair and lawyer Nida Baltalı.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Yüksel said, "Our greatest hope is that there will be no need for this project, no child will be subjected to abuse and no woman will lose her life in a feminicide." (AÖ/SD)
