Prepared by the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the bill of indictment against remanded defendant Mehmet K. over the suspicious death of Duygu Delen (17) has been sent to court.
Duygu Delen suspiciously lost her life by falling off the house of a man named Mehmet K. in the southeastern province of Antep on August 13.
The prosecutor's office has demanded that Mehmet K. be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment on charge of "wilful killing of a child" and given prison sentences on charges of "aggravated sexual abuse of a child", "insult" and "plunder in residence." The indictment has been sent to the court. If the court accepts the indictment, the trial of the defendant will begin.

Investigation is still going on
As reported by the Anadolu Agency (AA), the defendant is now also facing prison terms on a series of charges in addition to "wilful killing of a child." In the event that the Antep 10th Heavy Penal Court accepts the indictment after examining it, Mehmet K. will stand trial on the offenses charged.
On the other side, there are also other investigations against defendant Mehmet K. on charges of "jeopardizing traffic safety", "threatening with arms" and "drug use." These investigations launched by the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are reportedly still ongoing.

Duygu Delen suspiciously lost her life by falling off the house of a man named Mehmet K. in Antep on August 13, 2020. She was 17 years old.
Her friends said that Delen did not commit suicide and that Mehmet K. was responsible for her death. Mehmet K. was detained. He said that "they had a row and Duygu Delen jumped off the window herself."
Mehmet K. was arrested on charges of "sexual abuse of the child" and "wilful murder" on August 14. It was also understood that he drove while he was drunk and caused the death of a woman before.
The bill of indictment prepared by the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has demanded that Mehmet K. be penalized on charges of "wilful killing of a child" as well as "aggravated sexual abuse of a child", "insult" and "plunder in residence."
