Man Who Sexually Abused a Child Sentenced to 29 Years in Prison

The first hearing of the lawsuit filed into the sexual abuse of a child in Küçükçekmece, İstanbul has been held at the Bakırköy Courthouse.

The defendant has been sentenced to 29 years in prison on charges of "deprivation of personal liberty by force, threat or deception" and "qualified sexual abuse of the child". The 29-year prison sentence of the defendant has not been reduced by the court board.

While M. V. has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on charge of "qualified sexual abuse of the child", he has been sentenced to 9 years in prison on charge of "deprivation of personal liberty by force, threat or deception". No good conduct time has been given to the defendant.

What happened?

A child was subjected to sexual abuse in the district of Küçükçekmece in İstanbul on April 22, 2019. The abused child was hospitalized by her family. The child was discharged from the hospital after her treatment.

Taken into custody in relation with this incident, M. V. was arrested on charge of "sexual abuse" by the judgeship on duty after his testimony. (AÖ/SD)
