Thirty-two people have been detained in the "bribery" investigation against 224 people, including the opposition-led Kadıköy and Maltepe District Municipalities in İstanbul.
In the investigation run by the İstanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 160 people were referred to the courthouse on Friday (May 20).
Interrogating the suspects, the prosecutor's office requested the arrest of 124 people and judicial control measures for 36 people. The court released 126 people upon judicial control measures and sentenced two people to house arrest.
The 32 people who were arrested include one municipal police commissioner, two engineers, and 27 municipal workers.
The suspects are charged with "taking and giving bribes in an organized manner." (RT/VK)
