The Dersim Municipality and the Public Services Employees Union of Turkey (Genel-İş), under the umbrella of the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK), have signed a collective agreement.
The daily wages and social rights of municipality workers will increase by 20 percent as of March 1, 2021, according to the labor contract.
Some of the other decisions are as follows:
- The disciplinary board will have at least one woman member.
- LGBTI+ individuals working for the municipality will be granted one-day leave of absence in Pride Week.
- Women will be given an administrative leave on March 8 International Women's Day and November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
- Women w-employees of the municipality will be granted one-day menstrual and menopause leave every month.
- Workers with disabilities will be given paid leave on May 10, the first day of the Week of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
- In case of sexual harassment and sexual assault against women and LGBTI+s, the statements of women and LGBTI+s will be essential.
- Workers with a Master's degree will be granted net 456 lira as a premium of higher education.
- A worker getting married will be given 10 days, a worker whose spouse gives birth 5 days, a worker whose child is getting married or circumcised 3 days and a worker who loses his or her spouse, child, mother, father or sibling will be given 10 days as paid leave.
- A worker whose spouse, sibling, mother or father is treated in hospital will be given a leave of absence during the period when he or she should accompany them; a worker who gives birth will be given leave for 16 weeks, 8 weeks before the childbirth and 8 weeks after.
- Workers will be given one-day paid leave every month so that they can attend to their works at public institutions. If a worker never uses this leave in a year, 6 days will be added to their annual paid leave.
