Zöhre Yelken, the mother of our colleague Leyla İşbilir at the Independent Communication Network (bianet), has lost her life.
The first funeral ceremony for Zöhre Yelken was held at the djemevi in Gazi Neighborhood in İstanbul. Her deceased body was put to rest after the funeral ceremony held in the province of Sivas.
We offer our condolences to our colleague Leyla and her family.
We share the message of her granddaughter Berfin Yelken Grandma, I want to say farewell to you with our picture that I like the most. You know, it is hard to accept some things in life... I cannot accept your loss. You had so many stories to tell me, we had so many TV series to watch together and so many dishes to taste. It was just two days ago that you cooked stuffed vine leaves (sarma) for me. Ah grandma, I didn't know that it was the last sarma that you cooked for me. Who will cook me rice pudding now? Who will cook me potato pies? Who will wake me for breakfast at 8.45 in the morning saying 'it is 9 already'? I would wear your clothes more and make you laugh... I would repeat the words that you misspell and get on your nerves, then kiss you. There are still so many things that I wish we could have done together. I wish I had kissed you more like in our picture, I wish I had played with your hands more. I will tell everyone about you, I will tell them that my grandmother faced so many hardships in life, but she always took a tough stance. I love you so much, rest in peace. Your crazy girl |
