"The Motion Foreseeing Amendments to Some Laws and Statutory Decrees on Health" was approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Commission on November 7.
The Article no. 5 of the motion has foreseen restrictions on the employment of the physicians, who were discharged by Statutory Decrees or not appointed on the ground of negative outcomes of the security investigations launched against them, in private health institutions. The motion will be discussed at the TBMM General Assembly today (November 13).
Physicians Mihriban Yıldırım and Onur Erden, who protested the motion in front of the parliament in the capital city of Ankara, were taken into custody by the police today. Yıldırım and Erden were heard to say, "We do not want our six-year labor to go to waste."
The physicians have been released after giving their depositions.
