Arrested in Sincan Type L Prison in the capital city of Ankara, vegan trans inmate İda Koçak went on a hunger strike as she was insistently given non-vegan food despite her requests. Her strike was reported in the news on its eighth day on February 20, 2020.
As reported by Pembe Hayat, an attorney visited her in prison and received information about the issue. The attorney has announced that as of February 21, the ninth day of her strike, İda Koçak has ended her hunger strike as her request was accepted and she was given vegan food.

Koçak could use her right of access to vegan food only after eight days of hunger strike. According to the latest reports, she is currently in good health. Indicating that her request has been met thanks to struggle, Koçak has thanked everyone for their support. (EMK/SD)
