Trans Woman Murdered in İzmir, 1 Police Officer Detained

In a row that erupted in an apartment in Konak, İzmir, the bullets from the firearm of a police officer named A.D. have killed transgender woman Hande Şeker and wounded trans woman Y.A. and A.T.K.
The medical teams, who came to the apartment upon the complaints of other residents in the building, diagnosed that Hande Şeker lost her life at the scene of incident. While Y.A., who was wounded in her arm, was taken to Alsancak Nevvar Salih İşgören State Hospital, A.T.K. was referred to the Tepecik Training and Research Hospital.
Police also detained wounded A.T.K.
The police officers who came to the scene of incident took police officer A.D. and wounded A.T.K. into custody. After the examination of the prosecutor, the deceased body of Hande Şeker was sent to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution for post-mortem examination.
