Guide for Working with LBGTI Individuals for Psychologists

The Association of Psychologists for Social Solidarity (TODAP) has prepared the “Working with LGBTI Individuals Guide for Psychologists” for a non-homophobic/transphobic psychological service.

The guide fills in the psychologists who work with the LGBTI individuals about actual perspectives and basic concepts concerning sexual orientation and sexual identity, and that it also questions the homophobic/transphobic approach that exists in the field of psychology.

It aims to act in solidarity with the psychologists, who “experience confusion, desperateness and lack of experience since they couldn’t find a chance to discuss/learn these subjects during their training and for this reason”, in opposition to the approach that attempts to “change”, “fix” and “normalize the LGBTI individuals
