A total of 216 individuals have been issued warrants as part of an ongoing investigation by the Diyarbakir Public Prosecutor's Office. Of those individuals, 128 have been taken into custody, including three journalists who were later sent to the Diyarbakir 3rd Penal Judgeship of Peace for arrest.
After giving their statements, Beritan Canözer, Abdurrahman Gök, Remzi Akkaya and Mehmetşah Oruç were subsequently arrested, while Abdurahman Gök was sent to the court for arrest on charges of being a member of an illegal organization. A total of 10 journalists were among those who were detained yesterday.
Gök, who denied the charges against him during his statement to the prosecutor's office, was also sent to the court for arrest on charges of being a member of an illegal organization. During his questioning, Gök was asked if he was a member of a union, to which he replied in the negative. However, he was also asked other questions that were not recorded in the minutes, such as what activities he was planning to carry out and whether he had any nicknames or code names.
Meanwhile, two artists who were among the detained individuals were released after giving their statements to the prosecutor's office. Elvan Koçer was released under judicial control measures, while Şahperi Alphan Bayhan was released without any further action taken against her.
The questioning of those who were taken into custody is still ongoing. (NT/VK)
