The 6th Chamber of the Council of State has handed down its rulings regarding the two hydroelectric power plants planned to be constructed in Munzur Valley in Dersim. The Dersim Associations Federation (DEDEF) has announced the news on its social media account.
In its statement, the DEDEF has said, "The rulings of cancellation given for the the two dam projects in Munzur Valley, which we have been following since 2010, have become final after being upheld by the 6th Chamber of the Council of State; the legal process has completely ended."
Noting that the requests of the administrators, the defendants of the case, for appeals and revision of rulings have been rejected, the DEDEF has recalled that the projects were previously canceled by administrative courts in the capital city of Ankara in the years of 2019 and 2020.
"The rulings of cancelation given for Bozkaya Hydroelectric Power Plant (Kemerbel) and Kaletepe Hydroelectric Power Plant (Anafarma) dam projects were appealed by the litigious administrative institutions and a request for revision of the decisions was made," the DEDEF has said, announcing that "the appeal has been rejected by the 6th Chamber of the Council of State and the rulings of cancelation have been confirmed."
Concluding its statement, the DEDEF has stated, "The administration's request for a revision of the rulings after the appeals has also been rejected and the final ruling has been notified to us. That being the case, the legal proceedings as to the two dam projects in the Munzur Valley, which we have been following for 12 years, have completely ended."
