The decision extending the term of office of the State of Emergency Commission for another year has been published in the Official Gazette.
In this one-year period, the State of Emergency Commission is expected to review over 6 thousand applications.
The Commission on the Examination of State of Emergency Procedures was established on January 23, 2017 with the aim of reviewing and finalizing the applications regarding the procedures directly put into effect by Statutory Decrees issued within the frame of the State of Emergency and related to dismissal from public service, disengagement as students abroad, stripping of ranks and closure of institutions and organizations.
The Commission started working on May 22, 2017. The term of office of the Commission was first set as 2 years. Its term of office was extended twice at the end of these two years. As per the decision published in the Official Gazette on January 22, it has been extended for one more year.
As of December 31, 2021, the Commission accepted 16,060 of 126,783 applications and rejected 104,643. 6,080 applications are still pending. (HA/SD)
