Mücella Yapıcı, one of the executives of the Chamber of Architects, İstanbul Büyükkent Branch and a member of the Taksim Solidarity platform, has been summoned to depose as part of the investigation launched into Gezi Park protests by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Attorney Can Atalay and urban planner Tayfun Kahraman from the Taksim Solidarity, Socialist Refoundation Party (SYKP) Party Assembly Member Ahmet Saymadi and Haluk Ağabeyoğlu were also summoned to depose. Kahraman, Saymadi and Ağabeyoğlu deposed at the security directorate.
It has been reported that Can Atalay and Mücella Yapıcı will also depose at the İstanbul Security Directorate today (November 30).
Since there has been an order of restriction imposed on the case file, the attorneys cannot provide detailed information regarding the investigation.
Sharing a message on his Twitter account, Ahmet Saymadi has stated that "he was faced with a 70-page file and asked questions about phone calls, tweets and statements for the press during his deposition."
Atalay and Kahraman were among the group who met the Prime Minister of the time Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during Gezi Park protests in 2013. Ağabeyoğlu was a member of the Taksim Solidarity platform.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism temporarily appointed Tayfun Kahraman from the Taksim Solidarity, who was also the then İstanbul Branch Chair of the Urban Planners Chamber, to Antep. (EMK/SD)
