Lawyers Özlem Gümüştaş and Sezin Uçar from the Law Bureau of the Oppressed (EHB) were released from prison today (October 5) in the wake of inspection of their arrests.
The EHB has announced that Gümüştaş and Uçar have been released.
Two lawyers have been arrested for almost a year since October 25, 2017.
Can Tombul, who is also from the Law Bureau of the Oppressed and has been behind bars since August 5, 2018, has still been arrested.
In the case held by the İstanbul 27th Heavy Penal Court, 23 people, 13 of whom have been pending trial in jail, including journalists İsminaz Temel and Havva Cuştan, have been charged with "being members of an armed terrorist organization" and "propagandizing for a terrorist organization."
While lawyers Gümüştaş and Uçar were released today, the detention of journalists has still been continuing.

Lawyers Özlem Gümüştaş and Sezin Uçar from the Law Bureau of the Oppressed (EHB) were arrested ahead of the Suruç case, which they had been following.

The first hearing of the case, where 13 of the 23 people have been in jail pending trial, was held on July 17, 2018.
The court board ruled that the arrest of journalist İsminaz Temel and lawyers Sezin Uçar and Özlem Gümüştaş shall continue.
