Academic Nuriye Gülmen and Mehmet Dersulu, who were taken into custody in the district of Bodrum in Muğla, have been released on probation.
After being released from detention, Gülmen has shared the following message on her Twitter account:
"We have been released from detention. We are going to hospital. I cannot move my leg. They dragged me on the floor in the courthouse in that state. They kicked Mehmet everywhere, including his head."
Attorney Tamer Doğan has stated that Nuriye Gülmen has been taken to hospital suffering from a suspected broken leg, adding that "She cannot stand on her left foot."

Academic Nuriye Gülmen and Mehmet Dersulu, who wanted to stage a protest and fly a kite in solidarity with Engin Karataş, a teacher protesting with the demand that he be reinstated to his job, were taken into custody in the district of Bodrum in Muğla.
The People's Law Bureau made a statement yesterday (August 10):
"We have learnt that our client Nuriye Gülmen was attacked by the police on her way to hospital for medical check. Her left leg has been probably broken. Our client Mehmet Dersulu was also attacked while being taken into custody. We have learnt that the police used gas on him at close range." (AS/SD)
